  1. How long are the lessons and how often do we meet?

Each lesson is 30 minutes in length and we meet once per week. Some months have five weeks so on those months we will have 5 lessons as opposed to the standard four lessons per month.

  2. How often should my child practice?

You child should practice 4-5 days per week for 15-20 minutes each day. This is sufficient practice to get a good feeling for the songs and the students technical work.
  3. What happens if we miss a lesson?

Missed lessons are only given if a student is sick. You are then put down on a make-up list. As soon as a time slot becomes available, I notify you to see if you can fill the open slot for your make-up.
  4. We don't have a piano, is a keyboard sufficient?

Keyboards are sufficient. Today keyboards have enough of an octave range and electronic pedals can be purchased to simulate the pedaling of a piano.
  5. How long have you been teaching?

I have been teaching in the Atlanta area since 2001. My students have included children and adults of all ages.
  6. What days and times do you have available?

The days and times that are available change often. I can usually move current students around to open a slot for a new student.
  7. What level of students do you teach and what method/books do you use?

I teach all levels of students from 4-5 year old beginners all the way up to adults. I use the Faber & Faber method book series for our songs and a variety of other different publishers for the rest of the books. These songs include traditional, classical, pop and rock.
  8. When is payment due?

Payment is due on the first lesson of the month for that given month. There are no contracts and you pay month to month.
  9. Do you teach through the summer?

Yes, I teach all summer long and with school being out, I can easily work around vacation schedules. I encourage all students to continue through the summer so they don't get rusty and stay sharp.
