Kaitlyn and I after the 2011 Winter Piano Recital
Each year all of my students gather for our annual piano recital. Recitals are wonderful in so many ways. Recitals give the students confidence and maturity in front of an audience. This gathering also gives the students and parents a chance to talk among themselves about the music and piano they are playing. Older advanced students act as role models for the young beginner. The older students get the chance to refine their skill sets and continue to find a comfortable and relaxed feeling in front of a group of people. The young beginner gets a chance to start developing strong self-esteem and gain confidence performing in front of a crowd. The younger students also get to see and hear what more advanced pieces sound like.
Students are encouraged to play one or two pieces.
Date:
Each recital usually takes place in early November. During this time, there is little family travel and most students are able to attend, producing a good size audience for the recitals.
Frequency:
Recitals take place once per year. Although we may start a holiday recital at the end of each year also.
Location:
They take place at Mt. Bethel Church on Lower Roswell road in Marietta.
Duration:
Recitals are about 45 minutes to 1 hour in length.
Students are encouraged to play one or two pieces.
